October Newsletter

I learned the six rules for success early on, which are as follows:

  • Rule No. 1: Trust yourself
  • Rule No. 2: Break some rules
  • Rule No. 3: Don't be afraid of failure
  • Rule No. 4: Don't listen to negative people
  • Rule No. 5: Work really, really, really hard
  • Rule No. 6: Give back(to others and your community)

I believe it is the duty of those with more to help those with less. We are fortunate that we can support local and national charitable causes including efforts to obtain benefits for Filipino American veterans (U.S. military members who have long been denied benefits promised to and earned by them), Ability First (which helps people with developmental disabilities expand their possibilities and achieve their personal best), and assisting victims from the recent Las Vegas tragedy or natural disasters in Puerto Rico, Houston and Florida.

"Today's generosity, gives us significance."
- John Maxwell

If you have the means to help those who are less fortunate, give back today!

Sincerely,
Signature

Haagen Dazs Class Action Update

This month, a California federal judge denied an attempt by Haagen-Dazs to throw out a potential class action brought against the ice-cream company for allegedly improper advertising text messages sent in violation of the Telephone Consumer Protection Act ("TCPA").

The named plaintiff-represented by JLG-contends that the messages advertise Haagen-Dazs' mobiledevice "app" and were sent to consumers without proper consent. The federal judge also sided with JLG by refusing to grant Haagen-Dazs' application to stay the action while the D.C. Circuit Court of Appeals rules on the scope of various regulations under the TCPA.

JLG intends on continuing to aggressively prosecute the case on behalf of the named plaintiff and the alleged class.
